Computer Memory… Then vs Now

Computer Storage Now vs Then

In case you were wondering, that’s over 13,000 times as much memory storage. Over a period of 57 years the price per Megabyte has dropped from $24,000 per megabyte to less than 10% of a penny per megabyte. Talk about an exponential jump in price and performance!

Moore’s Law show’s that this exponential increase in computing power will continue to double  every 11-18 months until at least 2020. We cannot conceive of what technology will look like in another 10 years, and forget about the next 50. Despite the exponential increases in technological prowess, I still don’t have my damn hover-board from Back to the Future.
